Direct Route from KP to Connect Abbottabad to Hazara Motorway

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Government has proposed the construction of a direct route originating from Abbottabad City to the Hazara Motorway. This will be carried out with the development of the Sherwan interchange connecting Abbottabad through a Tunnel. This was brought to the table by Ameer Nadeem Durrani, Minister for Rural Development and Local Government, and Ahmed Jan, Caretaker Minister for Communications Works.

The KP has conveyed the proposal to the Federal Government for the said project. As per the details, the Sherwan Interchange will be expanded along with the construction of a tunnel-based interchange to Islamabad. The proposed project will also connect Mansehra, Nathiagali, and associated areas reducing the traffic load in Abbottabad City.
Several officials discussed the project in a meeting held in Abbottabad. Several other matters were also deliberated upon such as the Abbottabad BRT Project, Rainfall Drains, and other road problems. The officials also stressed the need to complete the projects on the given deadline while resolving the other associated hurdles.

This ambitious project is to establish a congestion-free connection between Abbottabad City, Nathiagali, Mansehra, and also some of the surrounding areas. All of this will ultimately result in a reduction of traffic load in Abbottabad City. Officials also agreed upon prioritizing the BRT Project for offering low-cost yet commendable public transport services.
