More single women are now the owners of houses than single men in the United States of (US) . This matters a lot now because Sixty Years ago, women were not able to acquire a mortgage without a male cosigner or a credit card. As per recent stats, single women mortgage applicants now stand at 18% of the market in 2023. 1 in 3 women single-handedly bought houses having stronger financial positions. According to the latest figures, single women now own an average of around 13% of house ownership across all 50 States of the US. Whereas, comparatively, 10.2% of single men own houses in the US.
- Mississippi, Louisiana, and Delaware now share the larger share of single women homeowners.
- South Dakota, and North Dakota have the highest number of single-men house owners.

This also represents, women are now more economically stronger than before. Women are now also being placed in senior-level positions in notable companies around the world. Whereas, women representing Black and Latina Women are observed to have the lowest homeownership rates in the US. Maxwell reports also brought to the front that now Millennials and Gen Zers make up most of the single women mortgage applicants in 2023.
