Islamabad: The Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN)
has urged the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP)
to carry out a free and fair investigation into the allegations regarding the 2024
Elections held on 8th February 2024. The FAFEN requests to check out the alignment
between Forms 45 and 47 to clearly find out the nature of the rumours. The entity
has offered the investigation to be conducted in 3 phases for the audit of results.
The FAFEN mentioned that “Such an audit must include representatives nominated by political parties
concerned as well as independent observers to ensure the transparency and credibility of the process”.

It is circulated that the post-election situation requires utmost attention to finding out the truth
behind the manipulation of Forms 45 and Form 47. The three proposed stages involve:
Stage 1:
A thorough assessment of the completeness, authenticity and correctness of the election documentation
such as result forms and the relevant information in these official forms.
Stage 2:
The FAFEN has urged that the second stage of this investigation must include cross-checking the
material effects of unverified forms on the election outcome and taking the needed actions to correct them accordingly.
Stage 3:
The 3rd stage must include the scrutiny of election officials that might be involved in the alleged manipulation of election 2024.
The number of these officials reach to a huge number of 1.5 million in the current elections.
The FAFEN has requested the ECP to take immediate and effective measures for the allegations
that mainly revolve around Forms 45 and their consolidation. It also urged the ECP to address
the complaints of irregularities from different parties and candidates that might offer solid
proof of manipulation by some entities involved in this issue. The FAFEN mainly asked the ECP
to focus on investigating the Form 45 and 47.
