NTDC Boosts Power Transmission Capacity

Lahore: The National Transmission Despatch Company Limited (NTDC) has recently strived to improve the power transmission capacity in the country. This enhancement is being achieved by the System Constraints Removal Programme. The NTDC teams have successfully installed 160 MVA 220/132Kv autotransformer (T-4), making Jiangsu Huepang China, along with the complete 220 Kv Dia at 220 Kv grid station Daud Khel.

According to the sources, the 160 MVA autotransfer has been initiated, which is the 3rd autotransformer installation in the period of 1 month. Previously, the project involved the enhancement of 2 autotransformers at the Okara and Ghakkar grid stations.

Both the much-needed efforts have added a whopping 570 MVA to the transmission capacity, which was completed under the National Transmission Modernization Project (NTMP-I). It is also pertinent to mention that the project was funded by the World Bank.

The augmentation of these transmission sectors will augment the capacity of the grid stations while addressing the growing demand generated from FESCO, PESCO, LESCO, and GEPCOI.
