Govt to Include Wholesaleretail, Real Estate, and Agriculture Sectors into Tax Base

Islamabad: The Finance Minister, Muhammad Aurangzeb met with the Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Malik Amjed Zubair Tiwana on Wednesday and discussed tax-related matters. In the meeting, Aurangzeb highlighted the requirement to enhance the tax net by including Wholesaleretail, Real Estate, and Agriculture Sectors into the Tax Base.

According to the sources, both entities discussed steps focusing on expanding the tax nets with the help of FBR Governance, economy documentation along full-scale digitization. Additionally, the government is planning to reform the tax restructuring while implementing digital solutions for the modernization of Tax Administration.

He also said, “By leveraging technology and enhancing transparency, we can build a more equitable tax system that fosters economic growth and benefits all citizens”. Mr. Tiwana also shared the good news of the collection of tax targets for the first eight months of the fiscal year and the rest of the PKR 9,415 billion would also be achieved.

The meeting concluded with a joint commitment to promote tax culture for the betterment of the living standards of the people of Pakistan.
